When you're in the unknown, You Don't Have to Be Alone

Are you in a new career?
Have you just retired?
Are you grieving the loss of a loved one?
Are you navigating a transition you didn’t ask for?
These are places of the unknown.
And my heart goes out to you if you are there right now because I know how it feels.
Life transitions — even the ones we choose — can feel deeply unsettling. When we step into the unknown, it can unearth old fears, past trauma, and survival patterns. Our nervous system can shift into sympathetic mode — fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. Everything can feel amplified. Tender. Overwhelming.
In these moments, anchors are lifesaving.
External anchors might look like:
A trusted friend
A family member
A supportive community
Simple daily routines
Internal anchors might look like:
A meditation or breath practice
Journaling
Gentle, compassionate self-talk
A deepening trust in yourself
When we have anchors, it’s like holding onto the side of the pool while you’re in the deep end. The water may still be deep, but you’re not drowning. The heavy feels lighter. The impossible begins to feel possible.
Without anchors, everything can feel like too much.
If you feel like you’re on the verge of drowning, ask yourself:
What small, self-soothing action can I implement today in a way that feels manageable?
You do not have to navigate uncertainty alone.
If you are needing more support right now, I would love to invite you to an exploration call with me as a 1:1 Wellness Mentor. This is simply a conversation — a space for you to share what you’re walking through and for us to see if we are a good fit to work together.
Lifestyle shifts — even small ones — can support your nervous system, create steadiness, and bring clarity when you don’t yet know where you’re going. You don’t need all the answers to take the next step.
If this resonates, reply to this email or use the link below to schedule your exploration call.
With Love,
